SimplicityCollect is partnered with LocateSmarter, a Skip Tracing provider that allows you to skip your newly imported accounts or your existing accounts on a individual or group basis. Accounts are currently sent in batches of up to 500 and processed every ninety (90) minutes.

Once processed, LocateSmarter automatically sends the new information back and updates SimplicityCollect in real time. Using this integrated skip tracing method saves you the hassle of uploading your own results and only charges you per successful account skip traced.

Only a single phone number (or address) is returned each skip trace, which can surprise some customers. The reason for this is that the returned data is the best possible contact information for that particular debtor, and is retrieved using proprietary algorithms and sources to ensure that highest success and probability. This saves you time and money as only the most accurate result is returned. We don’t believe that each consumer has a multitude of phones. The strict match logic allows us to return the most probable phone for the consumer, and enables us to reduce excess data and the cost associated with dialing it, as well as reducing the risk of wrong numbers & CFPB complaints.

How to Enable Skip Tracing

1) Navigate to Settings > Administrators > Skip Trace Settings.

2) Click the Enable Skip Trace button to turn the feature on.

  • Enabled: This means skip tracing is currently turned on.
  • Waiting for Signature: This means skip tracing is waiting on your signature before being turned on, which was sent in an email.

If you do not receive the email after 10 minutes, try disabling and re-enabling skip tracing on SimplicityCollect, or try using a different email address.

9) When you receive and open the email, click the Sign Now link and you will be brought to a new page.

14) After receiving a successful signature, the page status will update to show Enabled, and skip tracing can now be used.

15) The Notification Email is where you will be alerted of any errors as well as the status of each skip trace batch.

Options to Enable for Skip Tracing

Skip Trace Phones:

Cost: $0.10 per successful skip

When enabled, if an account is marked for skip tracing, the provider will identify the best phone number for that debtor. It will be compared to all of the stock phone numbers sent from SimplicityCollect (no custom field data is sent during this process). If this best phone number is new, it will be automatically added to the account in SimplicityCollect, with a status of Good – Skipped.

If the best phone number matches one of the existing phone numbers already in SimplicityCollect, no results will be returned and there will be no charge. You are only charged for successful skip tracing.

These additional options are also available:

  • Skipped Phone Description: This allows you to set the default Phone Description for newly skipped phone numbers.
  • Monthly Phone Skip Budget: This allows you to set a cap for how much money you wish to spend. If a limit is set and you reach that limit, the system will not send any more data. Leaving the box at $0.00 indicates you have no skip budget.

Skip Trace Address:

Cost: $0.10 per successful skip

When enabled, if an account is marked for skip tracing, the provider will identify the best address for that debtor. It will be compared to all of the stock addresses sent from SimplicityCollect (no custom field data is sent during this process). If this best address is new, it will be automatically added to the account in SimplicityCollect, with a status of Good – Skipped.

If the best address matches one of the existing addresses already in SimplicityCollect, no results will be returned and there will be no charge. You are only charged for successful skip tracing.

These additional options are also available:

  • Monthly Address Skip Budget: This allows you to set a cap for how much money you wish to spend. If a limit is set and you reach that limit, the system will not send any more data. Leaving the box at $0.00 indicates you have no skip budget.

Skip Trace Bankruptcy:

Cost: $0.35 per successful skip

When enabled, if an account is marked for skip tracing, the provider will identify if the debtor has filed for bankruptcy, the status of that bankruptcy, and what date that bankruptcy occurred. Depending on the other identifiers and/or requirements you have selected, it will automatically update SimplicityCollect with the debtor’s bankruptcy information for that account.

If results do not match the requirements you provide, or no results are found, there will be no charge. You are only charged for successful skip tracing.

These additional options are also available:

  • Default Product Offering: This allows you to choose if the bankruptcy information is added to an account when either there’s only a Bankruptcy (excluding dismissed bankruptcies) or Dismissed (including dismissed bankruptcies).
  • Account Opened Date: Results will be returned as far back as the date in the selected field. If an option is selected and the field is left blank on the account, results as far back as 15 years will be included.
  • Monthly Bankruptcy Skip Budget: This allows you to set a cap for how much money you wish to spend. If a limit is set and you reach that limit, the system will not send any more data. Leaving the box at $0.00 indicates you have no skip budget.

Skip Trace Deceased:

Cost: $0.14 per successful skip

When enabled, if an account is marked for skip tracing, the provider will identify if the debtor is deceased based on the debtor’s social security number, date of birth, and other relevant information. If so, the provider will automatically update the debtor’s profile in SimplicityCollect indicating that they are deceased, along with relevant information.

If the debtor is not deceased, no results will be returned and there will be no charge. You are only charged for successful skip tracing.

These additional options are also available:

  • Monthly Deceased Skip Budget: This allows you to set a cap for how much money you wish to spend. If a limit is set and you reach that limit, the system will not send any more data. Leaving the box at $0.00 indicates you have no skip budget.

Skip Trace Email:

Cost: $0.20 per successful skip

When enabled, if an account is marked for skip tracing, the provider will identify the best email for that debtor. It will be automatically added to the account in SimplicityCollect. There is no current de-dupication process through LocateSmarter for the email product, they do not compare the email addresses you may have on file to what they may be able to find. Because of this, you may receive duplicate results.

If no email is found, there will be no charge. You are only charged for successful skip tracing.

These additional options are also available:

  • Monthly Email Skip Budget: This allows you to set a cap for how much money you wish to spend. If a limit is set and you reach that limit, the system will not send any more data. Leaving the box at $0.00 indicates you have no skip budget.
