One of the most common activities in Simplicity is searching for an account. The Home screen allows each user the ability to search for accounts and quickly retrieve information. This search option is only available on the Home screen specifically.

You can also refer to the Quick Search functionality as an alternative method for finding accounts.

Accounts may be searched by entering any combination of the following information:

  • Debtor First Name or Company Name for commercial debtors
  • Debtor Last Name
  • Account #
  • Global Search (Allows you to search on the most commonly used Simplicity fields, including custom fields)
  • And other specific fields… (Available in the drop-down list under <Global Search>)

When initiating a global or custom field search, the data must be entered into the blank box below the drop-down list. Keeping the drop-down list set to Global Search will search almost every field in SimplicityCollect. Picking a specific field from the drop-down list will instead refine your search results.

When you are ready to search for an account, click on the search button to the right . You can also access Filters by clicking the filter icon , which will help refine your search. See our section on Filters for more details.

Results will appear right below the search boxes. By default, up to 25 accounts will be shown per page (an option to switch between pages will be available at the bottom). You can also change the # Results Shown drop down in the top right-hand corner to show more accounts per page.

If you need to perform another search quickly, and you previously had a filter set, the Ignore Filter checkbox will be available (as seen above). Checking the box before your next search will temporarily ignore the filters. This is mainly used when an incoming caller needs to be located in the system, but may not show up with the current filters.

Note: the Ignore Filter checkbox will be hidden if you had not set any filters for the previous search.

If you need to clear all the previously set filters, you can click on the filter icon and click the Clear All Filters button at the bottom of the pop-up screen.

 

Tips:

Hit the Enter or Return button on your keyboard, rather than clicking on the search button, to quickly bring up your search results. If no information is entered in the search boxes, the system will return a list of all accounts.

The headers at the top of the search results can be sorted by clicking on them. By default, the list always sorts by ascending Account Number.

Many companies also keep a tab or page open in their internet browser with the Home screen available. That way, if an incoming call is received, the caller’s information can be accessed quickly and the user doesn’t lose what they were working on.
